4. Boat trip on the Seine with Batobus Paris (Hop-on Hop-off)

Unlike the other providers, Batobus Paris is not a classic sightseeing tour by boat on the Seine, but rather a combination of public transport and sightseeing tour (hop on hop off). During the boat trip there are no audio explanations at the sights, but the boats drive to the 9 stops like a bus only on the water. The route of the tour is (almost) the same as the boat tours of all other providers of the Seine tours. Since at each of the nine stops / sights on the route is stopped and always passengers get on or off, a complete round takes about 2 hours.

A big advantage of the Batobus is that you can get off at any stop and get on again later, as long as your ticket is still valid. Thus, unlike the other providers of the Seine tours, you have the opportunity to visit the respective sight and then go to the next. But you can also classically ride a complete round without getting off.

The tickets have a validity of 24 or 48 hours from the first use, depending on which ticket you choose. During this time, the ships of Batobus can be used as often as you want - just like the hop-on hop-off buses. At each stop you can get on and off again and again. This is a very good alternative to the metro or bus if you want to tour back & forth along the Seine. On average, the tours start every 15 - 25 minutes and thus you do not wait long at the stops for a boat to continue.

Since the price difference between a 24 hours and 48 hours is only 2 euros, we recommend you to buy a ticket for 48 hours. For the very small surcharge you can use the bato buses but twice as long. And if you buy the tickets online in advance, you will also save these two euros. So for the price of the 24 hours ticket, you get the tickets with 48 hours validity. When buying the Batobus tickets you do not have to commit to a fixed date, because from purchase they are valid for 6 months until you start your first trip.

The dinner cruises are a nice change and the lights of the city are great to watch. Whether the prices for these evening trips are justified, you have to decide for yourself. We find the prices a bit too high. In contrast, the "normal" Seine rides during the day and evening for 15 - 20 euros are definitely worth it.
